How Signing Up For a Bootcamp With Eleven Fifty Academy Works

All courses at Eleven Fifty Academy are currently being updated for curriculum improvements and schedule changes. While this is in progress, they encourage prospective students to join their waitlist instead of submitting an official application.

To be placed on the waitlist, prospective students can submit basic identifying information — like their first and last name, phone number, and email address. Then, the form supplies a drop-down menu where the individual can select that they are a prospective student. In the additional field labeled “How Can We Help?” prospective students should list their program of interest and any additional questions they might have.

After submitting the form, an admissions counselor will reach out with any updates on the student’s program of interest and chat about the student’s goals.

Part-time Software Development bootcamp students have two enrollment options: weekly evening lectures each Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday or one lecture for eight hours every Saturday. Full-time Cybersecurity bootcamp students can expect to spend about 40 hours per week studying new concepts and practicing their skills in a collaborative, interactive virtual classroom. Part-time students can access the same features and choose from one of two tracks to pursue their studies: weekday evening lectures each Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday or one lecture for eight hours every Saturday. Both enrollment options provide the same curriculum and industry-leading certifications, the best practices essential to cyber security, and familiarity in an enterprise SOC environment.

Regardless of program or enrollment type, all students have access to Eleven Fifty Academy’s career services, including individualized career coaching, resume and LinkedIn profile optimization, and interview prep.

Additional Features

Free workshops

Eleven Fifty Academy offers a variety of free workshops for those interested in a tech career but who may be unsure that it is the right fit. Students can enroll in a live coding or cybersecurity workshop to try out a tech career at no cost or an on-demand coding workshop to start learning immediately. Either option allows students to explore their interest in tech without making a financial commitment.

Progressive income share agreement

While many tech bootcamps offer an option to repay tuition through an Income Share Agreement (ISA), this payment plan can often result in students paying more than two times their original tuition. On the other hand, Eleven Fifty Academy’s PISA allows students to repay only what they borrow. Funded by charitable donations, businesses, and private donors, this payment plan is exceptionally forgiving and is an excellent option for those who qualify.

Cybersecurity skill-up courses

In addition to immersive bootcamps, Eleven Fifty Academy provides two six-week cyber security courses for working professionals. Designed to help those already working in the industry level-up, these courses are entirely online and offer additional, in-demand certifications. Students can enroll in either Cybersecurity Analyst or Cybersecurity Pen Testing to further develop their skill set and increase their value to their current or future employer.

Atlas mentorship programs

Enrolling in a bootcamp at Eleven Fifty Academy allows each student to participate in the Atlas Mentorship Program. This program pairs students with experienced mentors who are actively working in the industry. These weekly mentor meetings are geared toward helping students grow their technical skills, promoting an agile mindset, and cultivating essential skills.

What We Like About Eleven Fifty Academy

Flexible payment options

Eleven Fifty Academy offers flexible payment options that make a tech career more accessible. Students who cannot pay in full may opt for flexible monthly installments, a loan from an industry-leading financial partner, or a PISA. In addition, Eleven Fifty Academy is permitted to accept the GI Bill, making this program an excellent option for veterans seeking a fresh start.

Beginner-friendly curriculum

Each Eleven Fifty Academy bootcamp is divided into three modules, the first of which is devoted to covering the fundamentals. This feature is beginner-friendly, with many students entering each program without experience. Each student will likely complete the more advanced second and third learning modules by laying a strong foundation.

What We Don’t Like About Eleven Fifty Academy

Limited course offerings

Eleven Fifty Academy’s flexible financing and comprehensive curriculum make its programs stand out against other tech bootcamps, yet it only offers courses in software development and cyber security. While both of these programs are great options, students looking for other tech-based courses should consider a different provider.

Currently on a waitlist

Eleven Fifty Academy isn’t currently offering bootcamps and is instead focusing on redesigning the curriculum and making scheduling changes. While maintenance is periodically necessary, the Academy doesn’t provide a projected or anticipated completion date. Therefore, students looking to enroll in a bootcamp soon should look elsewhere.
